Does a warm air curtain use a lot of electricity?

The energy investment must be separated from the savings generated by the thermal barrier.

    Gross operating cost

A 9 kW electric air curtain costs approximately €2.20 per hour of operation at full power. This may seem high, but the device only operates at 100% when the door is open.

    The invisible barrier: real savings

Without an air curtain, each door opening empties the heat from your store in a few seconds. Your main heating system must then compensate massively. The air curtain blocks 80% of these losses. In 90% of cases, the energy consumed by the air curtain is much less than the energy you would have lost without it.

    Rapid payback

For a high-traffic business, the installation of an air curtain is generally amortized within two winter seasons due to the reduction in the building's overall heating bill.

What is the difference between an electric and a hot water air curtain?

The main difference lies in the installation cost versus the operating cost.

    Electric for simplicity

Ideal for city-center shops. Quick installation, no plumbing, lower purchase cost. This is the preferred solution for small openings (doors from 1m to 1.50m).

    Hot water for large volumes

If you have a boiler or a heat pump, the hot water model is much more cost-effective. The cost per thermal kWh is halved compared to electric. This is essential for supermarket entrances or shopping centers where the air curtain operates 10 hours a day.

Can an air curtain be used as a primary heater?

What is a virtual assistant? A virtual assistant is a professional who works remotely to provide administrative, technical, or creative assistance to clients. Virtual assistants can help individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs with tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing emails, creating presentations, social media management, and much more. Their flexibility and ability to work from anywhere make them a valuable asset for those seeking to optimize their time and productivity.

How do I choose the right power for my air curtain?
