Fixed Oil Heating
Investing in a fixed oil heater for your workshop, agricultural shed, or warehouse is the ultimate autonomous heating solution for sites not connected to the natural gas network.
At Climatik, we support French professionals in selecting fixed oil-fired hot air generators. Our experts guide you toward European leaders such as Sovelor-Dantherm, SPLUS, Thermobile, and Airlat, all equipped with Riello oil burners—the world's number one with an exceptional efficiency of over 90%.
Indirect Combustion: Guaranteed Clean Air
Fixed oil heating exclusively uses indirect combustion, which radically improves your indoor air quality. The burner ignites the fuel in a sealed stainless steel combustion chamber (AISI 430 or 441). The gases circulate through a tubular heat exchanger that transfers heat to the forced air, with no contact between the two circuits. Fumes are vented outdoors via a chimney, while the blown air remains absolutely clean, free from CO₂, soot, or odor.
This complete separation allows for efficiencies exceeding 90%, with some models surpassing 92%. You can install a fixed oil heater in any enclosed space, including public access buildings (ERP), without the need for permanent ventilation. Your employees work in healthy air, and your consumption is optimized.
Integrated Tank or External Tank
Fixed oil heating comes in two configurations that address radically different autonomy needs.
Generators with Integrated Tank
Vertical generators with an integrated tank, ranging from 27 to 60 kW, offer the simplest solution for temporary installations. Their 80 to 150-liter tank serves as the base for the unit. Delivered pre-assembled with a pre-set burner and electronic thermostat, they operate immediately after connection and filling.
Typical autonomy reaches 12 to 16 hours of continuous operation. These units are perfectly suited for mechanical workshops, garages, construction site bungalows, or horticultural greenhouses requiring daily or bi-weekly refueling.
Generators Connected to an External Tank
For permanent installations with high consumption, generators connected to 500 to 5,000-liter tanks represent the professional solution. These models, ranging from 35 kW to 1,163 kW, can be placed on the ground or outdoors under shelter. Connection to a tank ensures autonomy for several weeks to several months and eliminates the need for frequent refueling.
This configuration is suitable for agricultural sheds, logistics warehouses, or market garden greenhouses requiring continuous heating. You refill your tank once or twice a year, and the installation operates without interruption.
Riello Burners: The Global Standard
Riello is the world's number one manufacturer of oil burners, with a service network across France. This widespread presence guarantees qualified technicians and readily available spare parts. Riello Millenium burners have a lifespan of 15 to 20 years in industrial use with proper annual maintenance.
Their technology ensures reliable starting even at negative temperatures, stable flame across the entire power range, and emissions compliant with European standards. Millenium G3 and G5 models are compatible with biofuel F10, preparing you for regulatory changes.
Burners are factory pre-set. The technician performs fine-tuning with flue gas analysis during commissioning. Integrated safety devices include continuous flame monitoring by photoelectric cell, overheat safety, and control air stats that shut down the burner if necessary.
Precise Sizing
Power calculation requires a rigorous methodology because you are investing for 15 to 20 years.
Calculation Formula
For a building with standard insulation and a height of 3 to 4 meters, use 35 to 45 watts per cubic meter. Multiply floor area × height to get the volume, then apply this coefficient.
Example: 300 m² workshop with 4.50 m height = 1,350 m³ → 47 to 61 kW needed. Opt for a 60 or 70 kW generator.
Increases Depending on Operation
Uninsulated building → Increase by at least 50%. Your 1,350 m³ shed would require 70 to 90 kW.
Market garden greenhouse or large glazed area → Increase by 70% due to heat loss through transparent walls.
Concrete or material drying → Increase by an additional 30% to compensate for the energy of moisture evaporation.
Beyond 150 kW of needs, prioritize several medium-sized generators distributed. Three 70 kW units heat better than a single 210 kW, with redundancy in case of breakdown and better modulation in mid-season.
Sectoral Applications
Mechanical Workshops and Garages
Configuration: 35 to 70 kW ground-mounted generator with vertical chimney, or connected to a 1,000-liter tank. Air distribution via a four-way plenum for homogeneous distribution up to 200 m².
Agricultural Sheds and Livestock Buildings
Configuration: 90 to 235 kW generator connected to a 2,500 to 5,000-liter tank, installed outdoors under shelter with suspended perforated textile ducts. Stainless steel models are perfectly resistant to humid and corrosive atmospheres.
Market Garden Greenhouses
Configuration: 60 to 150 kW generators in a battery of two or three units to modulate power. Distribution via perforated ducts above crops. Near-continuous operation from November to March requires a large-capacity tank.
Construction Sites
Configuration: 27 to 60 kW vertical generators with integrated tank to prevent freezing or accelerate concrete drying. Relative mobility allows relocation as work progresses.
Mandatory Maintenance and After-Sales Service
The initial commissioning must be carried out by an approved installer who performs connection, flue gas evacuation verification, burner adjustment with combustion analysis, and safety checks. A commissioning certificate is issued to you, essential for insurance and compliance.
Mandatory annual maintenance includes complete cleaning of the combustion chamber and exchanger, nozzle replacement, cell cleaning, pump and filter check, combustion adjustment, safety checks, chimney sweeping. Cost: 300 to 500 € depending on power.
The Riello service network across France guarantees rapid troubleshooting. Common parts are available in stock, specific components delivered within 48 to 72 hours.
Climatik's Support
At Climatik, we do not carry out installations because they require specific qualifications. Our expertise focuses on precise sizing, the choice between an integrated tank or an external tank, determining the optimal number and location of units, and selecting Riello generators that fit your budget.
