What is the difference between a misting cabinet and a freestanding mister?

The distinction is based on the operating mode and the area covered.

The misting cabinet is a fixed centralized system that supplies a network of nozzles via high-pressure piping. Three-phase industrial pump 400V (1,500 to 3,000W) generating 100 to 150 bars, covers 300 to 2,000 m² with 20 to 100 nozzles controlled by zones. Permanent installation, automatic temperature/humidity control, multi-zone programming. Investment: €5,000 to €25,000.

The self-contained mister integrates pump and nozzles into a mobile unit treating 30 to 150 m². 230V power supply (200-800W), pressure 70-100 bars, immediate installation. Temporary use or small areas. Investment: €800 to €2,500.

Selection criteria: permanent multi-zone installation >300 m² = centralized cabinet. Single area <200 m² or seasonal use = self-contained mister.

How many nozzles can a misting cabinet supply?

The number depends on the pump power and the nozzle flow rate.

Basic calculation: A 100-bar nozzle consumes 2 to 4 L/h. A 1,500W pump delivers 80-100 L/h = 25 to 40 nozzles. A 2,500W pump: 140-160 L/h = 40 to 65 nozzles. A 3,000W pump: 180-200 L/h = 60 to 80 nozzles maximum.

Single-line configuration: all nozzles operate simultaneously. Example: 30 nozzles × 3 L/h = 90 L/h, a 1,500W pump is sufficient.

Multi-line configuration: nozzles are distributed over 2 to 6 independent lines, only the necessary zones are activated. Example: 60 nozzles on 4 lines of 15 nozzles = 45 L/h per line. A 2,500W pump (140 L/h) comfortably powers 3 simultaneous lines.

Optimization: divide into lines to efficiently use the pump. Keep a 20-30% margin for network pressure losses and future extensions.
